Glad to see someone keeping tabs on this. As a Christian who believes you are what you say, I like to hear the name of our Savior in every prayer. To be without it makes it mearly a speach. I consider this one of the better Invocations I’ve heard.

Hey StewartFan… thanks for adding to my blog. I just wanted to be clear about the purpose of the invocation posts so that there are no misunderstandings. Although I embrace ideas of diversity in all of its forms, I don’t believe that NASCAR truly feels the same way. The weekly and very public religious ceremony that we all know as the invocation is purely a Christian ritual and doesn’t reflect the true diversity of NASCAR fans. I am chronicling the invocation to make the point that NASCAR is only interested in the ideological views of the Evangelical Christian movement and nothing else. That doesn’t sound very diverse, does it?

As for whether my agenda, if one can call it that, includes the removal of all religious practices at the track, it is not the case. I am only interested in doing away with the PUBLIC, televised ceremony. In your belief, God is everywhere, including the garage area, motorhomes, and the cars themselves.

Again, thank you for your post… I look forward to hearing more from you….
