Layers Of Earth

I am caught between the Tigris and Euphrates. On one hand, I am anxiously driven to get my music into the hands of people. I really think there are those out there, though it may not be many, who would enjoy what I have to offer. But on the other hand, I am loathe to self-promote. I see it as a selling out of sorts, a trait usually associated with the egomaniacal and self-absorbed.

You see, I want it both ways: I want to promote my new CD without coming off as a shill, a dreamer or an egomaniac.
 
But alas, this is what I am left with. A long-winded series of paragraphs which although thoroughly descriptive, they are also too long for the ADHD set. If you can’t say the word “FREE” 30 times in a 60 second commercial, you ain’t marketing.
 
So let me try this straightforward approach. It works for the bald guy hocking the learning CDs on TV…

Ok, well let me be honest. Although I just demonstrated a commercial knowledge to the contrary, I don’t watch all that much TV. I don’t read books or go to the movies. What I do for fun is spend my evenings in my little home studio hideaway writing, recording and producing my own music. I have no professional aspirations beyond selling enough CDs to pay for the actual production of the units themselves. The music is pretty good, some would say profound at times. I play everything because, like I said, I don’t watch too much television and I would rather spend that time learning how to play the djimbe than falling into some predictable cop drama. So won’t you help me keep this going? The Cd is really cool, moody and I put a lot into it. At the very least, the cover is interesting.
